Have you plotted your course? Do you know what direction to take?

I recently read an article and one of the lines that stood out to me was, "Direction determines destination" (Thanks Jim Rohn).  It hit me like a ton of bricks.  How many times have you headed out on a journey, knowing exactly where you want to go yet found it hard to actually get to your destination? You took many twists and turns along the way, still wondering why you cannot arrive at your destination.  One could argue that the twist and the turns add excitement to the journey and may teach you lessons along the way.  What are your thoughts?

  1. Interesting; my sister and I just finished a conversatsion about these "twists and turns", which I have had to be thinking about recently. As painful as it may seem, and as much as I try to beautifully rationalize them, I've come to realize that many, if not most of them, are "self sabatoge" mechanisms, keeping me from my true purpose. Do they add excitement to the journey? Mostly temporary! Interesting stuff!! Thanks for the discussion Ms. T!

  2. Some of the "twists and turns" may start out as self-sabotage; this is true! And yet my personal experience has been that, on looking back, I see God working things together for good. In fact, in many respects, what I've ended up with has been far more than I would have planned. That being said though, there's nothing to beat focus, which is what will take us to our destinations one step at a time!

  3. That happens on the internet, too. You plan on going to one website/newsletter, and end up all over the internet, including many blogspots and the like. Like how I ended up here...
